I am still getting used to having what I think "out there" for the world to read. That is going to take some getting used to. I do however, like reading what other people write and have already learned alot and even changed the way I think about a few things. Blogs allow you to express yourself, but I wonder if my students can think critically enough to weed out the misinformed yet confident bloggers and find those knowledgable about what they blog.

I know there may not be enough time in the school year to do this, but teaching students to develop their "crap filter" is time well spent. There are a number of "spoof" websites out there to help them think critically about what they read on the web.

" There are adults who can't (don't) do that. How many times a week do you get bogus emails because someone is too lazy to check the snopes web site to see if what they are passing on is true or not. So many people take everything at face value and don't check the facts.
